The Dickinson County Hospital Foundation, originally the Dickinson Memorial Hospital Improvement Fund, was started in 1965 by a dedicated group of doctors and other businessmen who knew the importance of offering opportunities for gifts to be made in support of the hospital.  Their personal contributions gave the fund the "jump start" it needed.  During the years since that initial effort, many donations and gifts have been received benefiting the hospital and community.

The Dickinson County Hospital Foundation's major focus is raising funds to support special programs, projects, equipment, etc. to benefit the patients who utilize Dickinson County Healthcare System.  Endowments, legacies, memorials…provided through wills, insurance policies naming the Foundation as a beneficiary, and cash contributions are the responsibility of the Foundation.

While Dickinson County Healthcare System is generously providing the Foundation with office space at Dickinson Memorial Hospital, we are not a hospital entity.  Dickinson County Hospital Foundation is a private 501C-3 non-profit organization with Federal ID #38-6093161.  The Foundation is governed by a Board of Trustees comprised of men and women from the community and is a separate organization whose goals are to provide the finest medical technology and healthcare programs available for the patients of our community.

The Foundation's support is garnered from donations and gifts from corporations, businesses, other foundations and donor solicitation of the doctors, administration and employees of Dickinson County Healthcare System, and the general public.

Some beneficiaries of previous donations have been $100,000 for a Helical CT Scanner, $22,000 for Dialysis, $1,000 for Pediatrics and $1,800 for Hospice.  Donations can be made for a specific purpose or will be used by the Foundation in the area it is needed most.

Our goal is to provide you, the patient, with the most current technology available.  To realize our goals, we need your support.  Any and all gifts, no matter the size, are welcomed and tax deductible from your federal income tax.
